One could argue that Doug DeMuro gained his Automotive Internet Fame with his “CarMax” Range Rover, where he bought a Range Rover from CarMax and bought the warranty for like four grand and then subsequently got about $17 million worth of repair work out of the warranty. CarMax has since (maybe because of Doug?) raised prices on their warranties significantly, but are their prices on more interesting cars competitive enough to make it worth buying one from them?
